“Language in Performance” Year Round Course
− Spring semester: 15 Weeks “Language in Performances” Course (suggested age: age 8 -12):
− A Training for Musical Performances in 3 diﬀerent languages. The future goal of this course is to train students be able to master foreign languages and be able to sing different language songs with confidence. When students grow up, they can be bilingual proficiency and take all AP world languages and culture test in high school.
− Imagine being able to speak a monologue and sing a song in another language? Combine diction, phonics, singing technique, acting and stage presence? Please join this course taught by world- class professional singer Ms. Natalie and her class will be covering three diﬀerent languages and three diﬀerent music styles.
− Every week we will spent time on learning a new song, a monologue and a poem from one of the following styles:
• English and Musical Theatre;
• German and Opera;
• French and Art Song.

− Over the semester we will be covering vocal techniques, acting, diction, dramatic beats, role preparation, monologue presentation, basic stagecraft and much more. For the language portion, you will be learning diﬀerences from British and American English pronunciations. You will also be given a list of essential German and French words and jump start your language comprehension and vocabulary. Also, in every , you will start with diﬀerent acting and singing vocal warm ups. At the end of the fifteen weeks course, you will have a catalog of diﬀerent warm ups to take with you as your further vocal studies.
A Possible Live Performance on August 8, 2020 in Stanford or South Bay Theatre, if adivseable by CDC and local authorities. ( Live Concert performance fee is $100/ student includes tickets -pay later. If “ shelter in place” or “Stay at home” order is still in effect, we will do an online stream live performance at the end of the workshop!
− Class Size: 6-12 students ( minimum 6 students, maximum 12 students. ) Tuition: $25x30 lessons=$750 / student. If you register with a friend, both get 10 % oﬀ.
